Repair the Sea - Tikkun-HaYam
Temple Beth-El joined with other congregations around the globe to help "clean up" our waterways. Reverse Tashlich is an innovative environmental practice that reimagines the traditional Jewish ritual of Tashlich to confront the modern issue of pollution.

Family Renew

Family Renew Community is a faith-based organization that provides a safe, stable home for homeless families with children, and equips them with the tools they need to be self-sufficient. Family Renew Community was founded in 1989 by several religious congregations in the Daytona Beach area, including Temple Beth-El. In addition to our annual monetary contribution, a Temple Beth-El representative serves on their board, and our temple is responsible for furnishing Cottage #5 at the Holly Hill facility when a new family arrives. We are proud to partner with this community organization.
Each family housed by Family Renew is carefully screened with the goal of the family moving into their own residence within 6 to 12 months. There are 4 housing campuses, in Holly Hill, South Daytona, Deland and Edgewater, where the families live and receive financial planning instruction and other life skills they need to live on their own.
Their motto is: Helping Homeless Families with A Hand UP – Not A Handout!
